This costume was inspired by none other than the best books from the 90s *drumroll please*….. GOOSEBUMPS! Okay, fine, it was really inspired by the tv show episode since I never actually read this particular book. π But the cover of this book is one of the most memorable in my opinion!
I mean, tell me that’s not an exact carbon copy. π
Close enough π
This book (and episode π) mainly takes place on Halloween. A girl named Drew and her friend want to scare these other kids from their school who are always scaring them! Drew’s other friends from out of town (who use to live there but moved away), come to visit and tell Drew that they have an idea to scare her friends from school. And sure, the cover might give some of the plot away (the out-of-town friends dress up as jack-o-lanterns), but obviously there’s more to the story….. and oh boy, this specific episode/book actually has one of the most interesting plot twists. π€
What do you think!? Well, they turn out to be aliens, of course! Who…… eat humans. Oh yeah, did I mention throughout the episode, they mention four missing people who mysteriously vanished one night. π«£
Shout out to Jack for being a part of my photoshoot. He’s a real one!
p.s. He’s so tiny! I never realized until taking this picture, standing beside him. π€
Aesthetically, I always found this cover to be one of my faves! I think because it takes place on Halloween (like The Haunted Mask π΅βπ« probably the best!). So of course, it’s extra spooky and Halloween-y! Perfect for October.
Oh, I’m not sure if I even mentioned this, but my Revenge of the Island Gnomes post (Day 7) was also inspired by the Goosebumps episode —err, I mean, book, Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes.
A jack-o-lantern’s night isn’t complete without some candy!
The island dolls were confused…. I didn’t even bother explaining what my costume was. They just kept calling me “fake Jack”. I mean, I guess they’re not totally wrong… whatever. π
See ya tomorrow! π
