Remember in my last post how I compared it to a TV episode where everything insane happens? Well…. this is probably part two! 😂 We, yet again, discover a new location (I really didn’t expect this!) and apparently, whoever lives there is still a mystery. Oh, but we did meet someone new….we met Retsuko’s other personality, Aggretsuko. That was a trip. Even more trippier was the fact that we barely survived a landslide inside a ruin with an active volcano? Did I mention how much I LOVE this game!?
Before we get to any of the Island Mystery quests, let’s go over some of the smaller (but still important) Friendship and Tools quests! I did a couple of them the over the last few days.
When you Fwish Upon a Fish
Can I just say how much I love the names of so many of these quests!? This one might be one of my faves. 😆 So, it turns out that that cute little water fountain (in this game they call it a well 🤷🏻♀️ lol) in the Spooky Swamp does have a purpose after all! Hangyodon wants to make a wish, but doesn’t know how to make the fountain/well work. He then suggests we go talk to Badtz-Maru (I’m honestly shocked we didn’t talk to Chococat 🤣).
That’s some sound advice.
In this scenario, it really is the solution! After talking to Badtz-Maru, I had to catch five fish (but really six because after you throw the five fish in the well, Hangyodon wants to throw one himself so just catch six fish 😅). Once you throw the fish in the well…
Surprise! You get Fwish furniture. 🐟 Now I have to remember to throw a couple of fish into this well at least every week to complete the Fwish set. 🤓
Bigger on the Inside
No, this isn’t some swanky new hotel that just opened up! This is actually one of the cabins in the Cozy Islands. It got a serious and very spacious upgrade, thanks to My Melody and Chococat! After speaking to My Melody, you will be able to upgrade any cabin, as long as you have enough strawberry crates.
I thought this dialogue was EPIC. 🤣 Strawberry crates and quantum fields. I never thought I’d see those words in the same sentence.
Tuxedosam’s Dye Upgrade
What’s just as important as solving all of the mysteries on this island? Doing it in style, of course! Tuxedosam really does a great job at that. You can now change the color or, I should say, “dye” any item of clothing, as long as you have the necessary dye pouches. You first need to go on a little mission to find two pouches that are locked inside two treasure chests. Just talk to Badtz-Maru, and then Kuromi!
Once you have the two dye pouches, Tuxedosam will have the dye station open for business! Did you notice I dyed my hat? 😌 Now it’s the Sour Critter Catcher Hat!
Pochacco Energy Pop
Long story short: Pochacco needs a burst of energy so he suggests we ask Pompompurin if he can help come up with something, like perhaps an energy drink that Pochacco can drink!
Aaaand this is how “Pochacco Energy Pop” was born! You just need some Spinip, Tofu, Fizzy Crystal, and voila!
An Egg-Cellent Pan
Rock some doodlers! I like the sound of that.
Huh, interesting. Pompompurin wants me to play the Rockadoodler mini-game. No problem!
Jeez, those Rockadoodlers are some speedy little nuggets.
After you finish playing the mini-game, you’re rewarded with eggs! The amount of eggs depends on how many Rockadoodlers you catch. I got five eggs. 😙
I’M WHAT NOW!? I guess what Pochacco is to me, I’m to Pompompurin. Does this make sense? Pompompurin is less athletic than me so I’m like Pochacco to him… wow! 🤯 😂
YEEHAW! HOW EGG-CITING! DARN TOOTIN’ I love Gemstone Mountain lingo. 🤠
How yummy! I can make omelets now! 😋
Now let’s get into some Island Mystery quests.
Curious Caverns
Ever since the Oasis became…well, an oasis, Pompompurin noticed that some rocks were moved by the waterfall. He wants me to go and break some boulders, because he’s been too busy napping to do it himself. 🙃
Umm, all of the above!?
We somehow ended up discovering a completely new location, Merry Meadow. This place is so… dreamlike, sort of like Alice in Wonderland. I love it!
I got to do some exploring and collected new materials: Pollen Puff and Seeds! This place is so green and flowery. 🌸
I then stumbled upon a Lost Doll! Pompompurin told me that Chococat was actually exploring Merry Meadow himself just recently. I highly doubt it’s his though. Perhaps he might know who it belongs to?
I bet all of my Shiny that it’s a new friend! How exciting. 🤗 I can’t wait to meet them. Gee, I’ve never had this many friends in my life. I think there’s more to come as well!
Enraging Ruins
Retsuko has been…. a little on edge. She can’t get the stupid Power Crystals machine to work (she said stupid, not me!), and then started complaining about her missing laptop and how she smacks it when it doesn’t work. 😐
Luckily for her, I’m the Power Crystals expert! Aside from Island Mail Person, I’m also the Power Crystal Finder Person. 🤣
Finding these Red Power Crystals was a piece of cake!
TOPHAT showed up and talked about his friend, as usual. I really hope we get to meet this mysterious friend soon!
Once you enter the Red Hot Ruins, it’s big brain time! Every room you enter has a puzzle that needs to be solved. You must solve it in order to unlock the doors to the next room.
I found this website super helpful if you ever feel lost like I did so many times! You should also check this website out if you want to know all of the Red Power Crystal locations. 🙂

Oh last thing! So in the Red Hot Ruins, there’s a bunch of treasure chests with crafting plans for the Yummy Furniture collection. This super informative video will tell you how to find each treasure chest! I think it’s so worth it to go and get all of those crafting plans. 🤓
